Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders, was established in 1971 by a small group of French doctors. Today, MSF is the world's leading independent international medical relief organisation.
In carrying out humanitarian assistance, we act as witnesses and will speak out, in private or in public, about the critical needs of the people we help. In doing so, we seek to alleviate human suffering, to protect life and health, and to restore and ensure respect for human beings and their dignity.

#Gaza: Shelling around Al-Shifa hospital
In November 2023, intense and unabated shelling in Gaza City prevented thousands of Palestinians from safely leaving the area around Al-Shifa Hospital. At that time, Médecins Sans Frontières tried to evacuate over 100 staff and their families trapped inside MSF premises near the hospital, which were repeatedly attacked by the Israeli military.
In April 2024, the MSF team restarted a clinic in our former office. The team - currently over 30 people - have never stopped treating patients during what they describe as the most difficult days of their lives.

I totally identify with this. I live in urban crises, where we have drug addicts, convicts, mental health issues....I am empathetic towards the system because I might not be able to deal with this. The government needs to do something. Oi 🐈
Hi Catherine, we do agree that the government needs to do the right thing that will benefit people needing support and organizations trying to provide this support.

I've seen this in the field repeatedly. The amount of good work that can be done is based on the amount of money received. Without donations coming in, the good work simply cannot happen.
